Plagued by countless injuries and a high profile legal battle, UFC 186 will almost surely go down as one of the most disappointing cards in recent memory. Not because of who’s remaining on it, but more because of what we could have had. Hoping to salvage the event is Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson, the flyweight champion whose frightening domination of the division has seen him rise to become one of the consensus pound-for-pound contenders.

To say that UFC 186 has been ravaged by undesired changes is quite a understatement. The card has suffered the loss of a welterweight title eliminator and a highly anticipated title rematch main event, not to mention the legal battles to secure the return of a well respected MMA legend. Attempting to salvage this event is reigning flyweight king Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson, aiming to defend his crown for a sixth time against the division’s eighth ranked contender; Japan’s Kyoji Horiguchi.

Revitalised after Chris Weidman’s dethroning of former champion, Anderson Silva, the UFC’s middleweight tier has gone from being one of the more stagnant divisions in the organisation to one of the most intriguing.
