UFC: Who Should Conor McGregor Fight Next?

It’s amazing just how quickly things can change in the crazy sport of MMA. In a matter of minutes Conor McGregor went from a seemingly unstoppable promotional juggernaught to a fighter with much to prove when he surrendered to Nate Diaz’s rear naked choke in the main event of UFC 196. With his back now against the wall the UFC’s first Irish champion has an incredibly tough decision to make when he chooses his next opponent. No one is an easy out at this point. Who should McGregor fight next?

UFC 196 Recap & Results

Mere months after a 14-second knockout which saw him claim the UFC featherweight title, Conor McGregor returned to the Octagon seeking a newer, heavier challenge. Moving up 25 pounds to take on late replacement fighter Nate Diaz, could the Irish sensation continue his dominance, this time as a welterweight? Also, could Holly Holm continue her reign and remain perfect as a professional as she defended her newly acquired women’s bantamweight title against perennial contender Miesha Tate?

Predicting UFC 196

No longer tasked with making history by becoming the first UFC fighter to simultaneously hold gold in two weight classes Conor McGregor will instead have another opportunity to showcase his skills and further hone his growing blockbuster appeal. Hoping to wreck the party is late notice newcomer Nate Diaz, a fearsome and fearless warrior who has more of a chance than most are giving him. Also on the card is the anticipated first title defense of the woman who beat the unbeatable. Will Holly Holm remain perfect, or can Miesha Tate finally capture UFC gold with another upset? What else can we expect to happen at UFC 196?

UFC Fight Night: Silva vs. Bisping Recap & Results

One of the UFC’s most tenured fighters Michael Bisping has been competing at the highest level of the sport for the better part of a decade, yet he has never been able to secure a title shot, let alone register a signature victory over a top contender. Returning to fight in his home country for the first time in five years, could one of Britain’s greatest mixed martial artists finally shake his ‘nearly man’ image with a upset victory over the decorated and revered former champion Anderson Silva?

UFC Fight Night: Predicting Silva vs. Bisping

Legacy and reputation as opposed to belts and title shots will be the prizes up for grabs as the UFC returns to London for a hotly anticipated showdown between Michael Bisping and the legendary Anderson Silva. Fighting in his home country for the first time in over five years, can the Manchester-born Bisping finally claim a victory over a member of the middleweight elite, or will the returning ‘Spider’ kick off what will surely be a final run with a strong reminder of why so many consider him to be one of the finest fighters the world has ever seen?

UFC: Greatest Fights That We'll Probably Never See

MMA can be a real heartbreaker sometimes. Last-minute injury withdrawals, shocking defeats, early retirements, business complications or even just a flat refusal to compete have all at some point conspired to rob us of some of the greatest matches of all time. The collapse of Werdum and Velasquez’s Super Bowl weekend rematch was both disappointing and unfortunate, but at least we still have a chance to see them throw down again in the future. The same cannot be said for these five bouts however; mouthwatering fights that rank among the greatest that we’ll probably never see come to fruition.

UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Bader Recap & Results

With Jon Jones supposedly clean and cleared to return to action soon the light heavyweight title picture is essentially closed for the time being. Hoping to book a long-sought shot against the winner of that inevitable clash Ryan Bader put his 5-fight winning streak on the line against one of the UFC’s most dangerous strikers, Anthony Johnson. Could Bader finally put the ghosts of previous disappointments behind him, or did ‘Rumble’ add the veteran contender to his long list of victims?

UFC on Fox: Predicting Johnson vs. Bader

It’s been a turbulent month for the UFC in terms of card organisation, but thankfully for them and us fans their return to New Jersey has remained largely intact. Meeting in the main event are two light heavyweights making their final approach on a shot at the title. Anthony Johnson has been there before, but Ryan Bader has yet to reach the pinnacle despite a long tenure with the promotion. Can Bader finally secure a crack at the gold, or will the dangerous ‘Rumble’ book a tantalising rematch with the champion?

UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw vs. Cruz Recap & Results

It was the fight the UFC’s bantamweight division had been waiting for. Finally returning to contention following a torrid 4-year spell on the sidelines, former champion Dominick Cruz hoped to complete an incredible comeback by recapturing the belt he never lost. The current champion, T.J. Dillashaw, however had looked superb since claiming the title two years prior. Could Cruz join the elite group of two-time UFC champions, or did Dillashaw prove himself once and for all as the undisputed king of the 135-pound division?

UFC Fight Night: Predicting Dillashaw vs. Cruz

Finally meeting after months of verbal sparring, T.J. Dillashaw will defend his bantamweight gold against a former champion whose style many feel the champion imitated in his star-making title victory. Speed and movement were key to Dillashaw’s capture and subsequent defence of the belt he won two years ago, but the very same traits were being used by Dominick Cruz long before the current champion made his shocking ascent to the top. Will the champion prove himself as more than just a pale imitation of his challenger, or will Cruz complete his long road to recovery by regaining the belt he never officially lost?

Weight class changes in combat sports are a big deal. Dropping, or even going up a weight class can rejuvenate a struggling fighter or conversely bring new challenges to dominant ones. UFC 195 Recap & Results

Returning for the first time since his stunning first title defense over Rory MacDonald at UFC 189, welterweight champion Robbie Lawler hoped to continue his incredible late career form with another violent masterpiece. Predicting UFC 195

Locked, cocked and set to continue the New Year’s fireworks, UFC 195 might be a little light on star power following the promotion’s epic shows last month but its five main card duels each have the potential to be excellent encounters nonetheless. Headlined by a spectacular welterweight title battle pitting two of the division’s most violent and tenured warriors, what can we expect to happen at the UFC’s first event of what should be yet another history-making year?
